Look up public records in your AI assistant

Look up a Cook County property from your AI assistant. Check town coverage, find a parcel, and open its dated public records and sources.

Connect to the research server

Use this URL when your assistant asks for a remote MCP server. Select Streamable HTTP and no authentication.

https://cookcountyrecords.com/mcp

For clients that import a plugin archive, download the GroundSignal plugin ZIP. You can also watch a lookup against the live research server.

Your assistant can check coverage, search a numbered street address or property index number (PIN), and read a parcel record. Every result links to the published dossier. Check its observation date before relying on it.

Try a lookup

Use GroundSignal to find PIN 09261170590000 in Park Ridge, Illinois. Give me the assessment year, the published record link and the dates of the sources you used.

For a different town, ask which towns GroundSignal covers. Where a check has expired, read the dated observation as historical. A missing value means the source has no value available for this lookup.

Add a custom connection

Custom connections depend on your account plan and workspace settings. A workspace administrator may need to enable them.

claude mcp get groundsignal

# Grok Build
grok mcp add --transport http --scope project groundsignal https://cookcountyrecords.com/mcp
grok mcp doctor groundsignal --json

# Codex

Set up Muse Code

Merge this entry into mcp_servers in ~/.config/muse/settings.json.

{
  "groundsignal": {
    "transport": "streamable_http",
    "url": "https://cookcountyrecords.com/mcp",
    "enabled": true,
    "mode": "optional"
  }
}

Open Muse Code and enter /mcp to see the three research tools. With your usual model configured, run a sourced lookup from the terminal.

muse exec --max-model-steps 4 \
  -c 'run.toolset=["mcp__groundsignal__search","mcp__groundsignal__fetch"]' \
  'Use GroundSignal to find Park Ridge PIN 09261170590000. Fetch its record and return the assessment tax year and source URL.'

For a paid brief or list, follow the Link CLI purchase instructions to check eligibility, review the complete price and retrieve your order.

GroundSignal accepts town slugs, numbered addresses and PINs for public property research. See our privacy policy for data handling and coverage for the underlying records.
